Major Arcana · XVI
The Tower Tarot Card Meaning
- sudden change
- upheaval
- revelation
- awakening
The Tower upright
The Tower is the lightning of sudden truth. A structure built on a faulty foundation is coming down, and it will feel violent before it feels like relief. What falls was never truly yours to keep.
The Tower reversed
Reversed, The Tower suggests a collapse delayed, or a reckoning you are bracing against. The lightning wants to free you from what is already unsound. Let the false structure fall gently.
How to read The Tower
The Tower is card XVI of the 22 Major Arcana. When a Major Arcana card appears, readers give it extra weight: it points to one of the bigger lessons or turning points of the moment.
Upright, let its keywords guide the reading: sudden change, upheaval, revelation, and awakening.
Reversed, the same themes are usually blocked, delayed or turned inward. Read the reversed meaning above with that in mind.
