Major Arcana · II
The High Priestess Tarot Card Meaning
- intuition
- mystery
- inner knowledge
- the subconscious
The High Priestess upright
The High Priestess speaks in the language of inner knowing. The answer you seek is beneath the surface, carried by intuition rather than argument. Be still; listen for what you have always known.
The High Priestess reversed
Reversed, The High Priestess signals an inner voice ignored. Secrets fester, intuition is doubted, and surface answers are mistaken for depth. Be still — the knowing has not left you.
How to read The High Priestess
The High Priestess is card II of the 22 Major Arcana. When a Major Arcana card appears, readers give it extra weight: it points to one of the bigger lessons or turning points of the moment.
Upright, let its keywords guide the reading: intuition, mystery, inner knowledge, and the subconscious.
Reversed, the same themes are usually blocked, delayed or turned inward. Read the reversed meaning above with that in mind.
