Major Arcana · VI
The Lovers Tarot Card Meaning
- love
- harmony
- choices
- union
The Lovers upright
The Lovers speaks of union and of choice — two things more alike than we admit. An alignment of values is at stake. Choose with your whole self, and what you join will carry you.
The Lovers reversed
Reversed, The Lovers speaks of misalignment — a choice avoided, values unspoken, or a union strained by what is left unsaid. Honesty, even when it trembles, is the way back to true connection.
How to read The Lovers
The Lovers is card VI of the 22 Major Arcana. When a Major Arcana card appears, readers give it extra weight: it points to one of the bigger lessons or turning points of the moment.
Upright, let its keywords guide the reading: love, harmony, choices, and union.
Reversed, the same themes are usually blocked, delayed or turned inward. Read the reversed meaning above with that in mind.
