Nine of Wands Tarot Card Meaning
- resilience
- courage
- persistence
- last stand
Nine of Wands upright
The Nine of Wands is the grit of those who have been tested. You are nearer the end than the beginning; one more watch at the wall is all that remains. Your resilience is not performative — it is earned.
Nine of Wands reversed
Reversed, the Nine of Wands reveals exhaustion masquerading as vigilance. The wall you are guarding may no longer hold a threat. Rest is the next act of courage.
How to read Nine of Wands
Nine of Wands belongs to the suit of Wands. The suit of fire: energy, creativity, ambition and the spark that gets things started.
Nines are close to the finish: fulfilment, or one last test.
Upright, let its keywords guide the reading: resilience, courage, persistence, and last stand.
Reversed, the same themes are usually blocked, delayed or turned inward. Read the reversed meaning above with that in mind.
