How do I upgrade my digital deck to a printed deck?

Upgrade a digital order to a printed deck yourself from your order page — where to find the upgrade, exactly how the price is worked out (what you already paid is taken off), and what happens next.

Yes — a digital deck can become a printed deck at any time, and you can do it yourself. You don't need to cancel anything, place a second order, or write to support. Nothing you've already made is lost: the printed deck is built from the very cards you already have.

Where to find the upgrade

Open your order page (the link in your deck-ready email) and look for any of these — they all lead to the same place:

  • The "Get it printed & shipped" banner just under your cards.

  • The "Hold your deck in your hands" step that appears right after you choose your card back.

  • The "Or let us print it" line in your download panel, once your files are ready.

  • The Order Assistant — the (?) button in the bottom-right corner of your order page. Ask it "how much is the printed deck?" and it will show your exact price and take you to checkout.

You can start the upgrade even while your cards are still being generated — the printed order simply waits for them.

What the upgrade costs — you never pay twice

What you already spent on your digital deck is taken off the printed price. Your order page shows both printed editions side by side with the exact amount in your own currency, and that amount is the final price — not a starting point:

  • Deluxe edition — you pay only the difference. Your digital purchase is credited in full: the upgrade costs the deluxe printed price minus what you paid for your digital deck. For example, if your digital deck was $39 and the deluxe printed edition is $199, your upgrade is $160.

  • Standard edition — the edition price, minus your owner's discount. The standard edition is priced as its own modest product rather than as a step up from digital, so instead of the full digital credit it carries a fixed discount for people who already own the digital deck: US$15, or the equivalent in your currency. Your order page shows the exact figure.

Both printed editions include free worldwide delivery, and each deck is printed one at a time from your own cards. The two editions are the same complete deck, finished differently — deluxe on premium 350gsm stock in a velvet keepsake pouch (produced in up to 14 business days), standard on smooth card stock, shrink-wrapped (up to 21 business days). Both editions are offered on our tarot decks and the Oracle deck; other decks offer the deluxe printed edition.

Discount codes and member pricing

If you have a printing discount code from us, or an active Collector's Club membership, it is applied automatically at checkout — whichever of the two saves you more. They don't stack, and you never need to hunt for a code field: the price shown on your order page already includes the better of the two.

What carries over

Everything. Your cards, every edit you've made, your card-back choice and all your downloads stay exactly as they are and become the printed deck. Your digital deck also stays yours — upgrading adds the physical deck, it doesn't replace or remove anything.

What happens after you upgrade

  1. You add your delivery address at checkout.

  2. Back on your order page, you review every card and approve the deck for print. Nothing is printed until you do — see How to approve your deck for printing.

  3. Only then does production start: a print run of exactly one deck, checked, packed and shipped to you, with tracking.

Because printing hasn't started yet, the time between upgrading and approving is also your last chance to fix anything you'd like changed — your included edits still work.

Adding the deluxe touches later

Chose the standard edition and want a little more? Any time before you approve your deck for print, your order page can add the velvet keepsake pouch, the deluxe 350gsm card stock, or both together, to that same order.

Changed your mind?

For the first 30 minutes after a printed order, your order page quietly offers to switch back to digital-only and refund the printed difference. After that, or once you've approved the deck for print, the deck is on its way into production.

What about the Collector's Edition?

The Collector's Edition — gold-foil gilded card edges, a rigid keepsake box with a magnetic closure, a certificate of authenticity, your personalized guidebook and unlimited edits — is also a pay-the-difference upgrade from your order page, both from a digital order and from a printed one. It's offered at the top of your order page, in the step after you pick your card back, and one last time when you approve your deck for print. It has to be arranged before printing starts, since it changes how the deck is finished.

Not sure which edition is right for you? Ask the Order Assistant on your order page — it can show the exact prices for your order and your currency.
