Gifting a personalized deck — no photo needed

You can give someone a personalized deck without needing a photo of them or their pet. You choose the deck and pay; they add their own favorite photo through a personal link, and we craft every card around it.

How does gifting work?

1. On our Gift page, choose the deck, pick the format, add the occasion and an optional message, and pay.
2. We immediately email your recipient an invitation with your name, your message and their own personal link.
3. They open the link, add their favorite photo, and their one-of-a-kind deck begins right away.

The gift is fully prepaid — your recipient never sees the price and never has to pay anything.

Which decks can I gift?

• Personalized Tarot Deck — the full 78-card tarot, made from their photo.
• Oracle Cards — a 44-card oracle deck.
• Purrs & Paws Pet Tarot — a playful 78-card tarot starring their pet.
• Whiskers & Wisdom Pet Oracle — 44 cards of comfort and joy, starring their pet.

The pet decks are made for a photo of an animal, so they're the natural choice for a pet lover's birthday or Gotcha Day.

What formats can I gift?

• Digital deck — the full personalized deck, delivered by email, ready to download and share.
• Printed deck — the full personalized deck, professionally printed and shipped to their door.
• Collector's Edition — the heirloom edition: foil-gilded cards, a magnetic keepsake box and a personalized guidebook. It is made to order and finished by hand, so it takes longer than a printed deck. When you choose the "In loving memory" occasion, the Gift page leads with this edition.

For printed and Collector's gifts, your recipient confirms their own shipping address when their deck is ready, so you don't need to know it.

What's the free deck for the sender?

When you gift a printed deck or a Collector's Edition, we include a free full digital deck for you as a thank-you. Your own upload link arrives in your confirmation email — add any photo you like, whenever you like.

What does a gift cost?

The Gift page shows each deck and format at its price in your currency, and that is what you pay at checkout. In the European Union the price already includes VAT at the rate for your country: the VAT it contains is shown in small type under the price (for example “incl. €28.17 VAT”), and nothing is added on top. Your recipient never sees the price.

Can I use a discount code on a gift?

Yes. On the Gift page, choose Have a discount code? above the pay button and paste the code from your email (a Gift page link that carries a code fills it in for you). The page shows the discounted price before you pay, and that is the price you are charged.

• A code made for one of our decks works on the gift of that deck (a code for one of our tarot styles works on the Personalized Tarot Deck gift).
• A code for printed decks works on the printed deck and the Collector's Edition, not on the digital deck.
• Each code works once, and it is only used up when your payment goes through — if you leave the checkout, you can still use it.

Does the gift link expire?

Your recipient can take their time — the link stays ready for up to two years. There's no charge and no rush for them.

What if they don't add their photo?

Emails sometimes land in a spam or promotions folder, so ask your recipient to search their inbox for Tails. If they still can't find their invitation, contact us and we'll send it again. Their link keeps working the whole time.

What does my recipient see?

An email saying you've sent them a gift, with your name, your message and a button to add their photo. Once they add it, their deck begins right away and they can watch it come to life, fine-tune any card, and (for printed gifts) confirm where it should ship.

Can I see their deck?

The deck belongs to your recipient — it's created from their photo and delivered to their email. Your confirmation email keeps you posted that the gift was sent.

I made a typo in the recipient's email — what do I do?

Reply to your gift confirmation email (or reach us through the Help button) with the right address, and we'll send the invitation there.

Can the deck itself surprise them with their own pet?

If you already have a great photo of their pet or family member, you can also use the regular product page and tick "Send as a gift" at checkout — then we make the deck from your photo and deliver the finished deck straight to them.
